part 4. Korea Marriage migrant visa(F-6)

There is an early adaptation program running by Immigration and social integration network.

By completing this program, you can extend your visa for 2 years or 3 years if you have a child.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the menu to change the language to English or any other language. 

So you might need some help from your Korean spouse if you cannot read Korean yet.

Sign up is required to register the early adaptation class. 

You can see this menu in the middle of the first page. Click on the second last one, which is 조기적응프로그램신청.

 

Click on the two check boxes to agree terms and conditions and click on '신청' on the very bottom right side. 

Then you can see this screen with all your information, you should check thoroughly if all your details are correct. 

And click on the red box to search available classes, and apply for it. 

The class is normally for 3 hours in total, and the books are available in 13 languages. We got the English version, and the book is actually useful to get used to Korean culture and life. 

In my case, there was no class available when we were available, so couldn't attend the program in 90days of the entry. Therefore, my husband extended his visa without completion of this course. so he only got 1 year at the first time.

We came to Korea with the marriage visa in Feb, 2019, and got the extention until Feb, 2020.

In October, we got the notice from the immigration by mail regarding the expiration of his visa and required documents for the extention. 

We attended the early adaption program in the beginning of Nov, 2019, and applied for the extention of the visa in the middle of November. so he could get 2 years extention. 

However, according to the Socinet website, you should take this early adaptation program within 90days when you first enter Korea with your marriage visa.
